Job Description General SummaryThe Manager is responsible for ensuring a superior customer experience.
They must develop associates at all levels, drive sales and profitability, and maintain effective expense and payroll budget management.
They will also ensure compliance with effective inventory management and merchandising practices and all store policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Customer ServiceoProvide positive representation of store.
oProactively assist customers in solving problems.
oGreet customers entering and throughout the store.
Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
oProvide a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
oEnsure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
oHandle customer complaints.
Work to resolve problems with the customer and have store's best interest taken into consideration.
oPossess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
Store OperationsoEnsure a positive, professional and safe work environment for all associates.
oSupervise the general operations of the entire store.
oResponsible for maintaining desirable product inventory levels to ensure store profitability in compliance with company objectives.
oEnsure compliance with all practices, policies and procedures necessary to manage inventory shrink.
Monitor shrink numbers and take corrective actions.
oManage and direct preventative maintenance and repairs in order to maximize and protect all physical assets (i.
e.
building, fixtures and equipment).
oEnsure receiving, checking in, stocking of merchandise for the store is being done completely.
oResponsible for maintenance of back stock levels.
oOversee and assist with the daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise areas.
oProvide assistance in the overall general maintenance of the store.
oEnsure weekly price changes are being completed (where applicable).
oEnsure monthly cycle counts and negative on hand reports are being completed.
oEnsure signage is current in the entire store.
oProvide a clean and orderly sales floor.
oEnsure special orders and layaway's are being completed properly.
oEnsure ad signage and products are ready for the customers.
Store Support OperationsoManage payroll and other controllable expenses.
oResponsible for successful Loss Prevention, Safety and Internal Audits.
Hiring and Training of AssociatesoConduct management staff meetings.
oEnsure effective training and development of all associates.
oRecruit prospective associates for possible management positions throughout store.
oManage and support the hiring, scheduling, reviewing, rewarding and coaching of all store associates including management.
oActively recruit and promote the advancement of store associates.
LeadershipoChallenge all associates to think of ways to better merchandise product, control expenses and increase sales.
oLead by example; be approachable by all associates and customers.
Education/TrainingHigh School or GED equivalent required; degree preferred.
ExperienceMust have previous retail management experience.
Physical DemandsStanding, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
