Assistant Manager

Job Description The Assistant Manager manages overall store operations and the achievement of company goals and directives.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude the following.

Customer ServiceoProvide positive representation of store.
oProactively assist customers in solving problems.
oGreet customers entering and throughout the store.
Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
oProvide a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
oEnsure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
oHandle customer complaints.
Work to resolve problems with the customer and have store's best interest taken into consideration.
oPossess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
Store OperationsoEnsure a positive, professional and safe work environment for all associates.
oSupervise the general operations of the entire store.
oResponsible for opening and closing the store.
oAssist with the implementation of store programs.
oEnsure successful Loss Prevention, Safety and Internal Audits.
oWork with General Manager and Assistant Manager on all aspects of running the store.
oParticipate in weekly management staff meetings.
oCommunicate issues to the appropriate department with General Manager approval.
oImplement new Standard Operating Procedures into store execution.
oAssist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise areas.
oEnsure that weekly price changes and label updates are completed timely and accurately.
oOversee all cashiering functions including training, maintenance, audits, and reports.
oManage and direct preventative maintenance and repairs in order to maximize and protect all physical assets (i.
e.
building, fixtures and equipment).
oVisit competition to be familiar with what they are doing.
oPerform all other duties as assigned.
Inventory& MerchandisingoAssist to ensure receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise adheres to best practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
oResponsible for maintenance of back stock levels.
oAssist to ensure that cycle counts and negative on hand reports are completed timely and accurately.
oAssist in maintaining desirable product inventory levels to ensure in-stocks and store profitability.
oAssist with merchandise resets throughout the store.
oAssist to ensure all signage is current in the store.
oAssist in presenting a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and promotional and incremental merchandising.
Hiring & Training of AssociatesoAssist in training of all associates.
oActively recruit and promote the advancement of associates.
oAssist in hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing, rewarding and coaching Head Cashiers and Cashiers with the approval of the General Manager.
LeadershipoManage all aspects of store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
oLead by example; be approachable by all associates and customers.
oParticipate in store meetings.
oCommunicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the General Manager for follow up.
oPrepare and challenge yourself for future advancement.
EducationAssociates degree preferred.
Experience1-2 years retail management experience required.
Physical DemandsStanding, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.
Recommended Skills Auditing Friendliness Leadership Loss Prevention Maintenance Merchandising Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
