We are currently hiring for our next Retail Specialist in Walden, NY.
The Retail Specialist is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Retail Shop at Angry Orchard Cidery. As a member of the Cider House Team at Angry Orchard, the team member is responsible for oversight and ordering of Retail Inventory, devising and implementing new Retail sales promotions, ensuring the Retail Space is maintained and well-stocked, assisting guests with Retail purchases, and providing stellar customer service while enhancing a guest's overall experience at the Cidery. The Retail Specialist is responsible for leading and completing monthly inventory processes, maintain signout sheets, and must have a solid understanding of cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory procedures. The team member will be the face of the Retail area and the contact person for all large orders shipments arriving at and departing from the cidery. This role may also be asked at time to offer insight, direction and thoughts on retail operations and retail items at other locations
What You'll Do:
Manage gift shop inventory, including receiving goods, quality control checks, ensuring merchandise is well represented in the gift shop, stocked, tracked, reported, sold, and inventoried.
Responsible for strong customer service and creating positive shopping environment for brewery guests.
Responsible for conducting sales transactions and category management within Square POS system. Manage upkeep and organization of the gift shop. Ensure there is a productive store environment.
Creates PO Request for manager approval
Maintains SOP's for inventory and stocking procedures
Responsible for logging all shipments of merchandise arriving at the cidery and inputting new inventory items into POS.
Responsible for support of public, private and VIP tours as requested.
Support Angry Orchard sales team on account cidery tours.
Maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of the tour center and gift shop.
Opens/Closes Public House and Retail Store - weekend and weekday shifts.
Participates in hiring, scheduling and training of Cider House Ambassadors.
Responsible for oversight and adhering to New York employment laws.
Assist with training of retail associates/tour guides.
In conjunction with all management, enforces compliance and adherence to all employment policies within the Angry Orchard Cidery Team Code of Conduct.
Partakes in oral and written discipline.
Assists with terminations as needed.
Maintains professionalism and authority at all times with guest and staff
Works with Cider Makers and Managment to continuously develop and create an exceptional tour experience for the Cider House guests.
Partners with STCC to complete employee evaluations on an annual basis.
Provides insight and leadership in the overall strategic initiative of the Orchard Brand by attending annual meetings and discussing goals & strategies as needed
Manage documentation within the gift shop with regards to tour count numbers, tour sign up, and inventory.
Manage monthly physical inventory process.
Responsible for opening and closing tasks as required.
Encourage guests to sign up for E-newsletter program, as a means to keep in touch with special events and promotions at the Cidery
Supplies - tracks and forecasts supply needs; i.e. glassware, gift cards, retail items. Ensures orders are placed as needed to keep par levels in line with the business needs. This includes Cider House supply needs as well.
Processes and approves all incoming Retail and supply shipments.
Conducts inventory as needed - weekly and/or monthly based on area of responsibility.
Works with Boston Beer Company to address inventory discrepancies and work on solutions to control shrinkage.
Partners with external sales team for cidery tours, visits and gifts given out to VIP guests.
Coordinates with Cidery management and designers on new retail items for the store including but not limited to; design, inventory levels, etc. to support seasonal product lines.
Manages merchandise promotions around festivals and holidays.
Handles merchandise sales analysis and maintains an overall margin goal as set forth by the General Manager.
Works collaboratively with BBC and A&S Accounting team in regards to merchandise/POS reporting and maintenance.
Works closely with and manages relationship with local vendors on specialized products.
Conducts and manages new floorsets, including re-setting and designing new merchandise displays often.
Support data entry as needed.
Support various projects as assigned by Cidery Managers
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1-year experience in customer service/retail environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in an organized and detail-oriented manner.
Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-task environment and under time constraints and deadlines.
Prior experience in public speaking.
Strong retail inventory management experience (including knowledge of COGS, margins, inventory management, new product development, merchandising
Physical requirements:
Ability to lift and move objects up to 60 lbs.
Ability to kneel, bend and climb stairs.
Ability to maneuver 160 lb keg.
Working conditions:
Loud, high-volume setting
Ability to perform professionally in a bar setting

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
